'Homestead's Can't Touch This'
Toni has a new wonderful home!
We
want to welcome the Bullions of Louisiana to our family!! Linda
and Richard, their daughter Frances, and sons Doug and John are
the most wonderful and loving family, and we're so happy to have
them as part of our family now!
Linda and Richard sadly lost their beloved Dogue Tiny
last year, he was with them for 11 years and losing him was
devastating for them. We met them as they were searching to help
fill the void in their hearts. Though no dog could replace
Tiny, they wanted another Dogue in their home.
Initially they hoped to adopt a rescue, but after a
long wait with no response they eventually spoke with a good
friend of ours, Ann Patterson, who put them in touch with us,
and that is how we met them. Thank you Ann!!
Ann knew we had recently taken back one of our pups who
didn't work out in the home he was initially placed in.
The family had not fulfilled any part of their contract and this
pup came back to us at 18 months old. Ann wondered if he would
be a good companion for the Bullion family. After speaking to
Linda and Richard a few times we fell in love with
them! Listening to their stories and hearing the love they had
for their Tiny, we knew any Dogue would be so lucky to be in
their family.
However, after thoroughly evaluating Jerry, the pup who
had returned to us, we did not feel comfortable letting him go
at that time. Though we knew they would love him beyond words,
we did not feel it was right or fair to put either of them in
this situation. Because Jerry had not been properly socialized
to outside people, other dogs, and different situations, he now
had some confidence issues that needed to be addressed. He had
not been to training classes, and had not been neutered yet.
Constant socialization and training is very important for this
breed and is stressed in our contract. Considering all of this
we felt the best thing for Jerry was to stay with us and undergo
a re-socialization and training period.
Knowing in our hearts that the Bullions would be a
perfect home, we discussed the situation at length and decided
we would give our Toni a chance to have a home of her very own.
With Linda and Richard she would get tons of love and affection
all for herself, and we wanted her to have that.
And
this is how she came to live with Linda and Richard! Linda used
her vacation time from work and she and Richard made the 1200
mile trip from Louisiana to Michigan to meet us, staying the
weekend to become acquainted with Toni and the
rest of our Dogue family! We had the most
wonderful visit and absolutely fell in love with them! And so
did Toni! They were perfect for each other!
Toni has now been spayed and is being enrolled in more
training classes. Jim had taken Toni to many classes while with
us, including starting her in man-tracking, and Richard is
looking forward to continuing her education! Toni absolutely
adores her new family and they adore her!
You Go Toni!!
Thank you Linda, Richard & family for everything you're
doing for her! |

accepting boy and we're so happy to have him back home!
Watch for updates on his progress!

Welcome Annette and Robert to
our family!
Our little girl known to us as
Lexie
is now with Annette and Robert
Maniaci of Wisconsin.
Lexie has been renamed "Stella"
and we so thrilled that she has such a
loving family to care for her!
Annette and Robert absolutely adore her
and have given her the best home we
could have hoped for. Stella now has a
new dogue-sister, Lulu, who lives with
their wonderful daughter Gina, and they
visit often to play! Stella
goes to their nursing home regularly
where she's smothered with affection
from the residents. Based on
Stella's temperament and disposition we
knew she would be perfect for this
wonderful couple. When taking her to
meet them she took right to them giving
lots of kisses and settled in as if
she'd been there always.
We can't thank Annette and
Robert enough for the wonderful
life they're giving Stella!Initially we
considered keeping her here as a show
potential pup, butafter talking to
Annette at length we felt we couldn't
deny Stella the chance to have all the
attention of their loving family, so
we placed her with them with a spay
contract. We miss her,
but her happiness and that of her new
family brings us such joy and we're
looking forward to watching her grow!
Thank you Annette and Robert for all the
stories and updates you send us of this
wonderful little girl!
The homes our babies have are
the most incredibly loving families and
we couldn't be happier for all of them!

We are very selective in placing our
puppies, our babies are a part of our family and we want
only the most loving of homes for them. We get to know
families long before the puppy leaves here, keeping in
contact with prospective families and answering any
questions they may have, as well as sending them updates
and pictures as the pup grows.
We also feel
it is important to deliver pups to their new homes so we
can meet their new families, we do this not only to be
assured that the puppy will have what he needs in every
respect, but to reassure new families of our support for
them. If for some reason time does not permit going
directly to the new home we will, at the very least,
meet the new family half way. Seeing the initial
bonding of the pup with their new family is worth more
than words can describe!
We welcome and encourage visitors, but
meeting families is important and for that reason we do
not ship puppies.
Anyone who has one of our pups becomes a part of our
extended family sending us pictures, stories as the pup
grows which we treasure, we will always be here for
them.
If you'd like to be considered for one of our
puppies please
contact us
for a puppy questionnaire, we would be more than happy
to speak with you!
